fun game man, nicely done.

Cool game! A finished game is a good game! Looking forward to your next one!

Just saw your post on Reddit on the Godot subreddit. Very cool game for your first actual finished project!

I'm also 31 and trying to do what you are doing in the spare time I have in between family, life and work.

Game is cool, addicting, simple to understand. Variety of enemies is good, posing a new challenge with each new enemy present.

I was getting quite frustrated with how small the button hitbox was. It's always best to overcompensate with hitboxes to give players extra room. Reflecting projectiles wasn't very clear to me, it took me a while to guess I was supposed to be pressing on the projectiles. Also, because there aren't that many green slimes, I wasn't really encountering having to click on the projectiles, and I also came across quite a few reflection power ups which made little sense for me.

Are you going to keep building on this, or are you moving on to something else?

Wow, thank you so much!!!
It means the world to me that you took the time to genuinely play through my game and give such thoughtful feedback 🙏

You are completely right about the hitboxes. I thought I gave them enough room, but I guess it wasn't enough. I'll definitely make them wider to feel better and fair.

For the reflection mechanic, it’s actually designed to reflect projectiles just by hovering the mouse over them, without needing to click
It looks like I failed to make that clear to the player, which taught me a huge lesson about how crucial game design communication is. 🤔 Thank you for pointing that out (and the wave balancing too)

As for my future plans, I'm planning to move on to a new project for now. However, once I build up more skills and get more comfortable with coding, I’d love to come back to this game and push a big update with more enemy types, perks, and items!

Thank you so very much for your interest and for taking the time to write such a detailed post. It really means a lot to me!

You're welcome! I know how hard game dev can be, so I like leaving some encouragement :)

I feel like hovering over the projectiles wasn't working for me, so I started clicking and probably Pavlov'ed myself into doing it.

If you wanted to chat and keep each other updated on solo projects, feel free to drop me a DM so we can chat on Discord. No pressure of course!
